Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an extensive English monograph on the carrier-based light attack aircraft, volume number 121 of the Warpaint Series by Ian White.
Responsibility details are not available.
An English-language monograph from the Warpaint Series of the British house Guideline Publications. The author is Ian White, and the illustrations and color profiles were supplied by Richard J. Caruana. Against the usual volumes of the series this is a markedly more extensive title: the extent is 144 softcover pages in A4 format. It is not a kit, but a picture and text publication for building and for studying the type. The Skyhawk is a subject where one volume is worth having: the aircraft was built for decades, went through a row of versions and was operated by fewer than ten countries, so the versions and finishes are otherwise tracked down piece by piece.
For modelers building a Skyhawk in any scale, because the drawings in 1:72 and the color profiles cover exactly what is not found on the kit boxes. The Skyhawk is among the longest-used carrier aircraft of all, it serves as a trainer and as an aggressor machine, and alongside the American operators a row of other countries flew it, so the choice of finishes is exceptionally wide. The aircraft was created as a deliberately small and light carrier-based attack machine with a delta wing that did not have to fold thanks to its span. The text is in English.
