A modeling paint for spraying in a brown camouflage shade designated A-21. It suits the camouflage fields of aircraft and the earthy tones of vehicles and dioramas.

In camouflage, brown is the color of the ground. On the upper surfaces it breaks up the outline of a machine seen against a field, plowed earth or dry steppe, which is why it appears in most camouflage schemes that did not come about over the sea or over forest. The shade carries the designation A-21, that is a code from the system of paint designations used on Soviet equipment. The richer, rather muted brown tone goes well with green fields and with gray areas alike.
The paint is ready for application with an airbrush. First stir the contents of the bottle properly, because the color component settles at the bottom while it stands. Spray the camouflage onto a dried base tone from close up and with a small amount of paint, as otherwise the edge of the field will blow out wide. Anyone who wants a sharper transition can mark the field out with a roll of putty laid a little above the surface.
Wash and degrease the surface before painting, as brown shades will not hide imperfections. Over a large area brown comes across darker than on a color chart, so in small scales it is usually better to start with a very slightly lighter tone and add the shadow with a wash afterwards. Deal with thinning and cleaning the airbrush using the products the manufacturer recommends for this range of paints. Before mixing with a paint of another type, test the compatibility on a scrap part.
