AMMO of Mig Jimenez Acrylic Filter Military Green is a liquid acrylic filter for toning areas of a model. It behaves differently on a gloss and on a flat surface, and that has to be taken into account when planning the work.
Responsibility details are not available.
A filter shifts the tone of the whole area you apply it to. This one carries a military green shade and is used mainly to even out green coats, whether it is a single-color area that looks too flat or several shades that do not hold together once they have been shaded separately.
The behavior of the filter is decisively affected by the sheen of the surface it goes onto. On a smooth gloss surface the medium flows freely, runs off the raised areas by itself and gathers at the engraving and in the corners: the result is smooth and even and the excess is easy to wipe away. On a flat surface it is the opposite: matte varnish has a rougher texture that grabs the medium at once, so the filter stays where you put it and moving and wiping it is markedly harder. In practice that gives a simple rule: if you want a smooth, even filter, put gloss or satin varnish underneath. If on the contrary you want the mark to stay more sharply bounded, work on a flat surface, but expect corrections to be harder.
For modelers who work with military vehicles in green coats and want to even out the surface before the further weathering steps. Knowing the difference between a flat and a gloss surface is useful with any filter, not just with this shade.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated room, protect your eyes and skin and wash your hands afterward. Close the bottle carefully after use.
