AMMO of Mig Jimenez Acrylic Filter Red is a liquid acrylic filter for tinting the surfaces of a model. It changes the tint of a whole area — for bringing out an individual detail there are other products.
Responsibility details are not available.
A filter is a product for tinting surfaces. Apply it to a painted surface and that surface changes its tint without the detail beneath it changing. This one has a red shade, so it warms a surface and shifts it toward a warmer position — it suits brown and ocher finishes, wood, surfaces under corrosion and anywhere the base color is too cold.
A filter suits you when you want to: unify several shades into one whole, soften the transition between camouflage fields, subdue base colors that are too rich, or give a surface depth before further steps of patina. It does not suit where you need to bring out engraving and riveting — for that there is a wash or a panel liner, which runs into the lines by capillary action. It does not replace a pigment either: dust, mud and deposits are done with a loose powder, not with a liquid filter. And it is not a paint — a red filter will not turn a gray model red, it only gives it a warm tint. Anyone expecting coverage from a filter will be disappointed; anyone expecting a fine shift of tone will get exactly that.
For modelers who build patina in several steps and know that every product does something different. A filter is the finest tool in that sequence — and that is its strength, not a shortcoming.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated room, protect your eyes and skin and wash your hands after work. Close the bottle carefully after use.
