AK SYNTHETIC BRUSH – ROUND 4/0

AK Synthetic Brush, ROUND 4/0 (round synthetic brush, AK interactive)

A round brush with synthetic fibers from AK interactive. It is not a kit but a modeling tool for hand painting. The round bundle tapers to a pointed tip, and it is the tip that sets a round brush apart from a flat one: a flat brush is a tool for areas and straight edges, a round one is a tool for detail. With round brushes the rule is that the more zeros in the designation, the smaller the brush. Size 4/0 is therefore considerably smaller than 3/0 and is among the finest, applying paint in a small quantity and with high precision.

Use

• The finest details: instruments, handles, loops, fittings, small interior accessories.
• Hand-painted markings and small lettering where a decal would not seat or is missing.
• Touch-ups after decals, after masking and after airbrushing, precisely covering small flaws.
• Emphasizing edges, small scuffs and chipping effects (flaked paint).
• Painting eyes, faces and small features on figures.
• Work with acrylic as well as enamel paints; it is advisable to thin the paint slightly so that it flows from the tip smoothly.

Care of the brush

• With such a small brush cleanliness is critical, so clean it immediately after painting.
• Clean it exclusively in the direction of the fibers and never pull the tip against the grain, as a tip once splayed will never bring precision back.
• Do not press on the brush and never stir paint in a cup with it.
• Once it is clean, carefully shape the tip into a point and let it dry freely.
• Store it tip up in a stand, as the tip must not rest against anything.

Who it is for

For modelers who finish details by hand: figure painters, builders of interiors, cockpits and fighting compartments, and also for those who touch up small things after airbrushing. The smallest size makes sense as a companion to larger brushes, not as the only brush in a set.

The brush is a modeling accessory, not a kit. Paints and thinners are not included in the package. The tip is the most valuable part of a brush, so protect it by cleaning immediately and storing it tip up.
