An aluminum tube with an outside diameter of 5 mm, a wall thickness of 0.45 mm and a length of 305 mm, 1 piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
A metal tube is one of the few materials that looks convincing on a model in its own right. A gun barrel, an exhaust, a landing gear strut, a mast or a tubular frame gain a regular circular cross-section and a thin wall of a kind that could not be made from plastic, and on top of that they take a load without bending.
The tube has an outside diameter of 5 mm and a wall thickness of 0.45 mm, so the inside diameter works out at 4.1 mm. The length is 305 mm and there is one piece in the package. A thinner tube or a wire of a matching diameter fits into the opening, which comes in useful when building telescopic struts and precise joints.
A tube cutter gives the cleanest cut; if you do not have one, use a fine saw and guide the cut while turning the tube constantly so that the end does not get squashed. Remove the burr on the inside and the outside alike, otherwise the mouth will look blunt. Aluminum is soft, so it can be bent carefully, but it will break at a sharp bend, which is why you should bend it over a rounded shape. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the finish will flake off.
The material will be appreciated by builders of modifications and of their own parts right across the fields, from aircraft and vehicles to ships and dioramas.
The package holds the tube only. The model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
