An aluminum sheet 0.2 mm thick in a 200 x 250 mm size from AK interactive - the stiffer variant for parts that are meant to hold their shape.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two hundred micrometers is twice the thickness of the thinnest variant, and in practice that means a fundamental difference in how the material behaves. Where a tenth of a millimeter crumples between your fingers, two tenths already resist - and that is exactly the point. This sheet is not used where the metal is meant to give way, but where it is meant to carry, hold a plane or take a load. The 200 x 250 mm size stays the same as on the thinner variant.
At this thickness ordinary paper scissors are no longer enough - use metal shears, bench shears, or repeated scoring with a scalpel from both sides followed by snapping. Make bends over a sharp metal edge or in a small bending tool; a bend over a finger will not work at two tenths. The material can be drilled with ordinary metal drills at low speed, but the sheet has to be backed with a piece of wood, otherwise the drill bites and tears the sheet. Chamfer the cut edges with a file after working - they are sharp and everyone cuts themselves on them during assembly. Before painting, degrease it and seal it with a primer for metal; it is bonded with super glue, and for loaded joints rather with two-part epoxy, which takes the stress.
The material is intended for further working. The cut edges are sharp - work with your hands and eyes protected.
