The designation AMT-11 belongs to the series of Soviet camouflage finishes used during the Second World War. The blue-gray tone was applied to the upper surfaces of aircraft, where it formed a two-color camouflage together with a darker gray. This approach replaced the older dark green finishes and to this day it is a recognition mark of Soviet machines of the later part of the war.
You will reach for it above all on Soviet fighters and attack aircraft that wore the gray camouflage. Besides an overall coat of the upper surfaces it also suits partial repairs and oversprayed panels, through which several shades of the same scheme blended on the machines of the period. The blue-gray tone looks cooler on a model than an ordinary gray, which is worth reckoning with when painting, above all in balancing the shadows.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it in thin coats and let them set between passes, since a heavy coat fills the fine surface detail. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the package, and reach for the same thinner when cleaning the tools. Wash and degrease the model before painting and even the surface out with a primer, so that the shade covers uniformly.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
