ATOM COLOR Purple is a modeling paint from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez from the ATOM range. A purple shade from the violet group of the ATOM range, that is a violet with a shift toward red.

The shade is named in full ATOM COLOR Purple and in the ATOM range it follows directly on from the basic violet. Purple differs from it in a shift toward red: it reads warmer and more saturated, closer to wine and to the colors of royal cloth. In building models and figures it is a tone that catches the eye at once, which is why it is usually used deliberately on selected areas rather than as the main color of a whole object.
The shade is meant mainly for figure painters and players who build strongly colored armies and individual models. It will also serve anyone who needs a saturated purple for color detail or for mixing toward wine. In the violet group of the range, lighter and more subdued tones follow on from it, so a whole transition from shadow to highlight can be built.
Mix the paint thoroughly before use, so that the shade is the same throughout the bottle. Apply it in several thin coats rather than one heavy one; the engraved detail and the edges of a casting then stay legible. Try the shade first on an offcut of sprue, because the same paint looks different on a light base and on a dark one. For the method of application, the drying time and the preparation of the surface, go by the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Work in a well-ventilated room and keep the paint out of the reach of children.
