A printed publication in the Warpaint series. The author is Kev Darling and the subject is the early versions of the B-52 bomber, that is the line from the B-52A to the B-52F. The title is meant for reading and for looking through; it is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model.
The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is an American strategic bomber with eight jet engines and a swept wing, which entered service in the middle of the 1950s. The A to F versions make up the first half of its development line and differ from the later machines in, among other things, the tall vertical tail, which the later versions received shortened. It is precisely the early machines that are covered considerably more thinly in the modeling literature than the later versions.
Literature belongs to a modeler's equipment just as much as tools and paints. A good monograph helps to tell what distinguishes the individual versions from one another and to decide which of them you are actually building; on a type with long service and many modifications that is the main concern. It also makes a good gift for someone who is interested in aviation and does not yet build models.
Store the book upright and out of direct sun, otherwise the spine and the cover fade. In the workshop keep it away from open paints, thinners and sanding dust. A spread left open for a long time at the bench breaks the binding; if you need a page close at hand, make a copy or a photograph of it. A model, a kit and modeling supplies are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
