0.6 mm, the second step of the Allen line. It is used where a joint is to be noticeable but not dominant. With a part whose composition is not documented, the choice of glue matters more than with an ordinary plastic accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This diameter tends to be a compromise: the head is no longer merely a dot, but it does not yet ask for attention. It will serve well on the mounting of fenders, on the covers of the wiring and in places that are in reality tightened with a small key. At this size the hexagonal recess holds a legible shape even without any special emphasis.
With accessories one often reaches for solvent cement, but that works only on polystyrene, which it can swell and bond. The manufacturer nowhere states what these pieces are made of, and so starting with solvent does not pay; it may well not take hold at all. More reliable is cyanoacrylate glue in a thicker form, which fills the clearance and does not run where it should not, or a two-part resin where the joint has to withstand something. The safe way is to try the joint out beforehand on an offcut of the sprue system.
If you drill the hole exactly, the piece holds by friction and glue is unnecessary. The advantage is plain: the head can later be taken out, polished or exchanged for another step without taking its surroundings apart. Anyone not sure of his accuracy puts a drop of thick glue into the hole with the tip of a wire and seats the part in a single move, with no corrective shifts, which smear the glue over the surface.
Blow the swarf out of the hole before you apply anything into it; waste settled in it lifts the head a little higher and the joint then sits crooked. A short puff of compressed air is enough, and a brush with stiff bristles manages the same.
