The three finest diameters together

This package brings together the lower part of the size grid: 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7 millimeters, that is three neighboring steps a tenth apart. The heads have a lowered hexagonal profile, so on a model they behave as the background of the detail, not as its peak. It is in exactly this class of sizes that buying a set is the most sensible, because the difference between the individual steps can hardly be judged by the naked eye and trying it on the part is the only reliable way.

What the set holds and what it does not

The contents are three sizes, not the whole line. The remaining five steps, that is from 0.8 millimeters up, are covered by a second, separately listed package; the two follow on from each other with no overlap and no gap, so anyone who buys both has the size grid complete. What you will not find in the package is tools or glue, and the parts of the model itself are not in it either.

When a set pays off and when one size does

A set makes sense at the start of a build, when you do not yet know the proportions of the real subject. An individual size, by contrast, when you have checked the diameter and need it in quantity. The most common procedure is a combination of both: first the set to get your bearings, then separate top-ups of the step that has come to predominate on the model.
