A small imitation of fastening hardware for models: a hex head with a collar beneath it, the light version, size 1.2 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small imitation of fastening hardware for models. The head has a hex shape for a wrench and beneath it is a collar, that is a widened shouldered rim which on a real bolt does the work of a washer and spreads the load over an area. The size given in the name is 1.2 mm, and the head version is marked in the name as light.
Collared bolts are used on machines where the thread goes into an aluminum casing or into sheet metal and the joint is undone often: on engine covers, on radiator mounts, on exhaust flanges and on gearbox covers. On a model the collar has one more advantage: the widened rim casts a shadow around the head, so the part looks settled and does not look like a drop stuck onto a smooth surface.
For a modeler who is finishing an engine and visible mechanical parts and wants the joints to look settled. It is an accessory to a kit, not the kit itself. The model, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
