An introduction to tactical combat on a paper map

This tabletop wargame for two builds the whole clash on a pair of double-sided A2 maps, across which cardboard unit counters move. The package is conceived as a gateway into the genre: the rules are set out in a booklet of their own and a second book offers ready-made missions, so a beginner does not have to put a scenario together by himself.

Inside the box there are two double-sided maps measuring 420 by 594 millimeters, over a hundred cardboard counters representing tracked vehicles, infantry and terrain features, a sixteen-page book of missions, twenty-four pages of rules, two decks of fifty-four cards each and ten six-sided dice.

The cards are divided into two sets with different roles. One builds the force a player goes into the clash with, the other determines what he can undertake in a given turn, so no game runs the same way as the one before. The dice then decide the outcomes of the individual clashes. The combination of a fixed map, counters and a card draw means the basics can be grasped in a single evening, while room for tactics stays even after dozens of games played. No models, glue or paints are needed to play, as everything necessary is included in the package.
