A decal sheet with technical stencils and warning placards for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 aircraft in 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109K-4 is a late production version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. It was powered by an inverted Daimler-Benz DB 605 V12. Compared with the earlier machines it has a taller fin and a retractable tailwheel, so it can be told from the older versions at a glance.
A sheet of technical markings in 1:48. Technical stencils are the small placards that a real machine carries all over its surface: instructions at filler necks, warnings at access covers, marks at the walkway areas and at the ports of the aircraft systems. A kit is usually equipped with the national and personal markings alone, and only these placards give the surface its scale and its density. How many stencils the sheet carries and which kit it is drawn for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Varnish the area under a decal to a gloss, as on a matte finish a white haze appears around the carrier film. Cut the stencil out close to the printed area, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to slide freely on the paper. Move it onto a dampened spot, position it and blot the excess water away with a soft cloth from the middle toward the edges. A decal softener settles the film into the engraving and over the rivets; once it has been applied the decal must not be moved again. Finally cover the model with a varnish that unifies the sheen and hides the edges of the films.
A decal sheet is supplied. The aircraft model, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
