The light, near-white shade imitates faded, sun-bleached linen covering. It is a water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint from the Air Series aircraft range, in a bottle of 17 ml. The paint is ready for the airbrush and for brushing alike, has a satin surface and a durable film, and reaches full cure in roughly 24 hours.
The linen covering of aircraft aged fast. Under sun, rain and service the doped surface lost its warm tone and grew lighter, most markedly on the upper surfaces and in places exposed to the weather. The Bleached Linen shade captures precisely that faded appearance and works best paired with a richer linen tone from the same range. Combining the two colors lets you modulate a surface, pick out the individual panels of the covering and avoid a dull, uniform finish. The light tone also suits a base for subsequent filters and light washes.
The paint will appeal to modelers of First World War and interwar aircraft, to builders of balloons and gliders, and to anyone who wants convincing gradation of tone in fabric surfaces.
The paint is water-thinnable and non-toxic, yet still work in a ventilated space, use respiratory protection when spraying with an airbrush and keep it out of the reach of children.
