BPHD-01 MS Sight Lens 01 Clear is a set of Bandai accessory parts in clear plastic, intended to replace sensor and sight lenses on models. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model.

You are not buying a model but parts to improve one. The set belongs to the accessory range of parts from Bandai, which you can recognize by the BPHD prefix in the name, and according to the name it contains lenses for sensors and sights in clear plastic. The eyes and the visor are the first thing the eye goes to on these models, and a flat part with a printed shape is replaced by a transparent element that has depth and catches the light.
A build without glue
Bandai models are assembled by snapping together parts pre-colored in the plastic, and this set is injection-molded the same way. Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers leaving a margin and then trim the rest of the gate with a sharp knife; with clear plastic that goes double, because a whitened edge is immediately visible on a transparent part. Clear plastic can also be polished: working through progressively finer abrasives and finishing with polishing compound gives a surface that shines like glass.
A clear part comes into its own when it has a reflective base behind it. The simplest route is to spray the socket under the lens with silver or pearl paint; the light bounces off it and the lens lights up. A color tint can be created with a thin coat of transparent paint applied from inside the part, not from outside. And if you are varnishing the model, fit the clear parts right at the very end: a matte varnish would make them cloudy.
