Where it belongs in a scene

A scene is put together from the bottom up and vegetation falls into levels exactly as it does outdoors. Lowest is the base and its texture, above it the low level of grass, and only above that the shrubs. It is precisely the upper level that decides whether a scene looks three-dimensional or stays flat. The red and green combination behaves as a color accent: used in a small quantity among ordinary greenery it breaks up the uniformity of the growth and draws the eye where you want it. In a larger volume it suits autumn and fantastical subjects, where the growth is to be prominent in itself.
