Dark Camouflage Grey is a dark camouflage gray, which the name refers into the British BS381C register of color shades under number 629. That register serves British industry and the armed forces, and shades from it are carried by British aircraft, vehicles and equipment. Grays of this kind cover the upper surfaces of machines, where a machine seen from above is meant to merge with the ground, and in British schemes they usually meet a dark green.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use and during work, as settled pigment otherwise shows as uneven coverage. The thinner made for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow it when cleaning tools as well. Lay the paint down in thin coats and let each one set; a single heavy coat floods the engraving and wipes out the raised detail. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand.
Dark camouflage shades easily swallow detail on a model: in a small scale, saturated dark areas look noticeably heavier than on the real machine. Layering helps, where you add a barely lightened tone into the middle of large areas and leave the edges darker. Test the transition between the gray and the second color of the scheme on a piece of scrap first, so that you know how sharp an edge your airbrush setting gives.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes, airbrushes and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Close the bottle carefully after work and store it away from frost and from direct sunlight.
