Deep Bronze Green is a very dark green with a cast toward brown, carried in the British BS 381C chart under the number 224. The BS 381C chart is a standardized British range of shades, and a modeler meets it wherever a British subject is being built: its numbers are often given in the building instructions and in the references for finishes. A reference to a chart number is therefore a more precise brief than the name of the shade alone, which shifts from one brand to another. The item belongs to the Orange Line of the Hataka brand.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, so that pigment settled at the bottom is stirred back in. The thinner and the thinning ratio differ from line to line, so use the thinner intended for this line and follow the manufacturer instructions on the packaging. Test the shade and the consistency on a piece of scrap plastic, not straight on the model. Wash and degrease the surface, and on large smooth areas a base coat will help. Dark greens tend to swallow light and wipe the shape out, so it is worth letting a lighter base show on the edges and the convex surfaces and applying the paint in several thin coats.
The shade will be used by builders of British vehicles and British aircraft who work to chart numbers, and also by modelers who need a very dark green as a base for shading or for accessories and parts of a diorama.
The thinner, brushes, airbrush and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
