A 0.7 mm armored cone rivet from the brand GAS HANS holds 171 printed heads, the most of all the sizes offered from seven tenths of a millimeter up. The hole is drilled at 0.5 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cone differs from a round head in the way it deals with light. Where a dome gives a single point highlight, a conical surface creates a continuous light ring around the apex and a sharp shadow beneath it. On a photographed model a cone therefore reads more clearly, even though it has the same diameter as the rounded variant. The brand offers both forms side by side precisely because each suits a different kind of real subject and a different way of lighting.
Seven tenths of a millimeter is roughly two and a half centimeters of real diameter in 1:35 and over three centimeters in 1:48. That corresponds to the ordinary structural rivet on fenders, on tool boxes, on the hems of bodies and on the covers of cooling grilles. It is exactly for that reason that long regular rows can be built from it, for which 171 pieces are just right.
One hundred and seventy-one heads of a single diameter, without accessories and without instructions for a particular kit. Smaller and larger sizes of the same shape are kept separately by the brand, so a set of your own can be put together exactly according to the joints your real subject has. Paper tape and a drill are not part of the delivery.
