Copper is a copper metallic shade from the acrylic line of the Abteilung 502 brand. It is an acrylic, that is water-thinnable, paint, and that is the key distinction, because the same brand is renowned above all for its oil paints and makes a number of shades in both chemistries. The acrylic version dries quickly, needs no solvent thinners and the tools are washed out with water after work. The oil and acrylic lines neither mix nor thin each other.
Metallic pigments settle to the bottom, so stir the paint thoroughly before every use, do not merely shake it. Metallics look best on a smooth, well prepared base; a rough surface breaks up the sheen. They are also harder to overspray and to mask, so as a rule apply them at the end of the painting. Build the coverage with thin coats, not with one heavy one.
The volume of the package and the exact shade are given on the packaging of the paint. Use the paint in a well-ventilated space, keep out of the reach of children and close the container carefully after work.
