The twelfth issue of the modeling magazine Damaged, which deals with wear and aging of surfaces on models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Damaged is a modeling magazine focused on the wear and aging of surfaces, that is on the part of the build in which a cleanly painted model turns into a machine that could really drive or fly. The full name of the series is Damaged, Weathered and Worn Model Magazine, and the theme holds across the issues: rust, chipped paint, dust and mud, traces of grease and of use, surfaces bleached by the sun. It is a discipline in which it is easy to overshoot: the difference between a believable machine and an over-dirtied toy lies in the degree, and above all in where the dirt settles and which way it runs.
This is the twelfth issue of the series. The issues do not follow on from each other like chapters, so you can start with any of them and fill the older ones in later. The make-up of the articles and the subjects on which the techniques are shown are given by the publisher.
It is most useful at the moment when the model is built and painted and the decision is how far to go with the wear. Techniques aimed at the surface carry over between fields: what works on a tracked vehicle will serve, with adjustment, on a ship, on an aircraft or in a diorama. Even someone who is not building at the moment and is looking for ideas will get something out of the magazine.
This is a magazine. A model, a kit, paints and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
