Damaged is a modeling magazine about the finishing of models; its subtitle speaks of weathered and worn models. This is issue 8. The series deals with how to get the marks of service onto a model: dust and mud underneath, rust in the joints and around the rivets, paint worn off the edges and in the places that are gripped and stepped on, and color faded by the sun.
Finishing rests on the order of the steps and on the restraint the modeler keeps. The magazine is therefore led by pictures: at each stage you see the state before and after the work, so you can judge how much is enough and when to stop. The make-up of the articles in this issue is in its contents.
Several separate crafts fall under the heading of finishing, and they are layered on top of one another on a model:
Each of them has its own materials and its own right measure, and recognizing that measure is the hardest part of the whole discipline.
For modelers who have the building side under control and want to push the final look further, and for builders of dioramas where the state of the equipment has to match the scene. It is useful for beginners too, because a method led by pictures can be followed without long practice.
One copy of the magazine is supplied. The models, paints, pigments and tools mentioned in the articles are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
