DARK ALUMINIUM – RC MARKER

The dark aluminum shade

A marker of the RC Marker line in a shade whose name ties it to dark aluminum. It is a cool gray tone for metal surfaces, that is for places where the bare material is meant to show and not a coat of paint. On a model such a shade is used in small doses but often, and that is exactly what makes a marker practical: the paint is laid down straight by the tip, without a palette and without mixing.

Where the color is used

On the metal parts of weapons and equipment, on walkways and steps, on the edges of hatches and lids where the coat has worn through, on chains, hooks and tools. It also suits small machine parts on a diorama and places where the wear is concentrated in a narrow strip and would be difficult to do with an airbrush.

Recommended procedure

• Try the mark on an offcut of plastic first, so that you know how the shade looks on that base.
• Wash and degrease the base, otherwise the paint will not hold.
• Suggest the wear sparingly and irregularly, as a continuous strip looks like a coat of paint rather than exposed metal.
• Draw a thin layer and let it dry, and only then repeat it if needed.
• Guide the tip lightly, as pressure only widens the mark.
• Store the marker carefully closed, so that the tip does not dry out.

What is supplied is the marker in the shade stated. The model, further shades, varnishes and pigments are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well ventilated room and keep the marker out of reach of children.
