Dark Sea Blue 17 ml.

The character of the color

A dark blue from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive in a 17 ml bottle. The qualifier in the name places it in the same color group as the lighter Sea Blue, only shifted deeper into darkness. On a model it is an area where the difference between light and shadow does almost all the work, because the shade itself has only a small range of brightness.

Where you will use it

It suggests itself wherever the surface is to be continuously dark and yet colored, that is on large areas and on their shadowed parts. Paired with the lighter blue from the same range it lets you grade a single area: the darker tone in the corners and under overhangs, the lighter one on convex places. It serves equally well as a base for later lightening and as a color for the shadows of panel lines. It also comes into its own on small parts where a dark tone is to be deep and yet legibly blue.

Application tips

Stir the bottle down to the last of the settled pigment, otherwise the coverage will vary. Apply thinly and preferably several times; with dark colors insufficient coverage shows only against the light. Wash and degrease the model before spraying, as grease shows up as patches under a dark coat. Lay the masks on before painting and pull them off only once dry. The recommended thinner, the thinning ratio and the way to clean the tools are given by the manufacturer, so follow the manufacturer's instructions.

What is in the box

The paint is supplied in a bottle of 17 ml and the package contains only that. Always close the leftover paint well after work, otherwise the shade thickens and goes on worse. Thinner, primer, varnish and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
