A Warpaint series monograph on the Canadian de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver utility aircraft. It is a publication, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The DHC-2 Beaver is a single-engine utility high-wing aircraft from the Canadian firm de Havilland Canada. It was created shortly after the Second World War as a working aircraft for remote regions where landings are made on short and unprepared strips. The structure matches that: a rugged airframe, a strut-braced wing, a roomy cabin and a piston radial engine. Depending on the environment the machine is operated on wheels, on floats and on skis, which made it one of the best-known aircraft of the Canadian and Alaskan backcountry.
Volume number 139 of the British Warpaint series is devoted to the DHC-2 Beaver. The author is Adrian Balch. The volumes of this series combine a text on the development and the operational use of a type with an extensive picture section, which tends to hold period photographs, color side-view profiles and drawings.
The book suits a modeler who is building the Beaver and looking for reference on color schemes, markings and the differences between civilian and military machines, and also a reader interested in aircraft for harsh operating conditions. On this type in particular the range of users is very wide, from army machines to civilian carriers and floatplane services, so the choice of finish is a substantial part of the work on a model. The picture section also helps with the small things that show on a model, such as the layout of the cabin or the form of the floats.
The book is supplied on its own. A kit, decals and other modeling material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The text is published in English.
