Deep Blue is a bottled acrylic paint thinned with water from the 3rd Generation range. The shade is a deep, darkly rich blue, the bottom tier of the blue scale, used for shadows, depths and deliberately dark areas rather than as the main color of a model. In effect it does the same as a dark green in the green scale: it gives the other blue tones somewhere to step back to.
With rich dark shades a great deal depends on how the bottle is handled. The pigment settles to the bottom, so the first draw from an unstirred bottle brings out a different color from the second: shake it honestly before every use rather than just turning it over a couple of times. Never thin the paint straight in the bottle; take a small amount onto a palette and add water or acrylic thinner drop by drop, so that you keep the consistency under control and the rest stays as it was. After work, wipe the thread and the neck with a damp cloth: dried acrylic in the thread is the commonest reason why a bottle stops sealing over time and the paint in it thickens. Store the bottle upright, dry and away from frost.
For figure painters, aircraft and ship modelers and for anyone building their own blue scale. It is a bottled acrylic of the 3rd Generation range; the brand also carries washes and inks under the same shade name, and those are different kinds of product that behave differently.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate while spraying and protect your airways. Wash brushes with water right after work, as dark pigments do not come out of dried bristles.
