Emerald Metallic Green is a metallic shade from the 3rd Generation range. It combines a rich emerald green with a metallic pigment, so the surface sparkles gently once dry. The bottle holds 17 ml of water-based acrylic, thinnable with water or acrylic thinner. It is not a lacquer, and yet it is handled differently from an ordinary opaque paint.
A metallic green is a typical bodywork color, and with bodywork the result is decided during the preparation. The surface has to be perfectly smooth, that is sanded and sprayed with primer; a metallic paint emphasizes every scratch instead of hiding it. Once the paint is dry, go over the area with gloss varnish - only that gives the surface depth and allows a light final polish. Use weathering on metallic surfaces sparingly, because matte pigments and washes quickly kill the metallic effect; it is more convincing to leave the finish clean and concentrate the dirt only in the seams and around openings.
It suits cars and motorcycles, modern and racing subjects, science fiction themes and accessories where a metallic finish should show. It assumes work with an airbrush and careful surface preparation.
Keep out of the reach of children and close the bottle well after use. Ventilate and use respiratory protection when spraying with an airbrush.
