Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo Group 5 Team Martini Racing 1981 is a decal sheet in 1:24 scale from Decalcas. It is markings for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:24 scale from the Decalcas brand, in the Martini Racing livery in which Lancia campaigned the Beta Montecarlo Turbo in the 1981 season. It is neither a kit nor a finished model — it is a set of markings for a model you already have. The manufacturer does not name a target kit for this sheet, so compare it against the box you are building before you buy.
The Beta Montecarlo Turbo was a Group 5 car, one of the so-called silhouettes: under a freely shaped body with wide fenders and a large rear wing there was a tubular frame, and little but the name linked it to the production coupe. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine put it in the two-liter class, where it took on stronger rivals. From the start of the 1981 season Lancia Corse ran in the Martini livery and that year it took all six races of the World Championship for Makes, including a class win at Le Mans. Group 5 then lost its world championship status and Group C took the place of the cars.
The Martini stripes are split across the sheet and have to line up over the edges of the body, so work from the center line of the car outward and keep adjusting the position while there is still water under the decal. The base should be a cured gloss finish. On the fenders and the pressed shapes a decal softener will help, and the finished car is varnished over.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
