A self-adhesive sheet with a surface of cobblestone paving measuring 48 x 24 cm for H0 scale. It is laid without further glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cobblestone paving gives a scene age sooner than any other detail. A square, a courtyard, a quayside or a street in an old town stand on it and it cannot be replaced with a smooth area. It is hard to draw by hand, though, because the irregularity of the stones has to be regularly irregular. This self-adhesive sheet from the Heki company carries a ready-made surface of cobblestone paving in H0 scale.
The sheet measures 48 x 24 cm, that is roughly 1150 square centimeters of area. In H0 scale, which corresponds to a ratio of 1:87, the longer side stands for just under 42 meters of real length. One sheet will therefore cover a whole smaller square including the entrances, or it will do for a long stretch of paved street between houses.
The surface has to be flat, clean and dry, otherwise the self-adhesive layer will not take hold and the edges will start to lift. First lay the sheet out dry and work out where the curbs are to run and where the track is to run. Peel the protective film off step by step and press the area down from the middle out to the edges. Once laid, tone the paving down: rub a thin dark paint or a pigment into the gaps between the stones, pick out a stone here and there in a different tone and lighten the wheel tracks a little instead.
The sheet will be appreciated by builders of layouts and dioramas in H0 scale who are building historic houses, a factory yard or a street with a tramway. The buildings, model vehicles, the paints and the pigments are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
