A sheet with a clinker brick masonry pattern measuring 40 x 20 cm for the large 0 and 1 sizes.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the 0 and 1 sizes everything shows. While in small scales it is enough to suggest masonry, here the viewer makes out the individual brick, the width of the joint and whether the wall has a bond. Making such a surface by hand costs whole evenings and a single irregular course ruins it. A ready-made sheet with a clinker masonry pattern therefore saves time and above all keeps the surface regular.
The sheet measures 40 x 20 cm, that is 800 square centimeters. In the large sizes it covers a considerably smaller piece of a building than the same area in fine scales, so count rather on one wall or a band of base course than on a whole site. With larger structures, plan in advance where the joins will be and buy accordingly.
Run the cut along a joint, never across a brick. Place the join of two sheets where something will cover it: behind a corner, behind a pier, behind a downpipe or behind planting. Clinker is not one color, so once the base tone has dried, set a few bricks apart and darken the joints with thinned paint. In a large scale it pays to spend time precisely on the joints, because it is they that carry the whole impression. The foot of a wall at ground level tends to be darker and dirtier, the upper edge washed out by rain instead.
For builders of large layouts and dioramas for whom making masonry by hand at this scale would take many hours. Even a less experienced modeler can manage the painting. Paints, glue, a base and the other parts of the scene are not included, unless stated otherwise.
