The British injection-molded kit 1:144 Messerschmitt Bf-109 E-1 (Hangar Edition) builds the early Bf 109 and brings decals for two specific machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
The brand Beacon Models from Great Britain staked its work on the small scale and did it thoroughly. In this format the injection-molded plastic has an unusually clean surface and even a suggested cockpit. In the box there is one aircraft, a booklet with a color painting guide and decals from the Cartograf printing house covering a pair of real machines.
The E-1 version was the first large-scale production form of the Bf 109, with the Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and four MG 17 machine guns, two of them in the wing and two above the engine. It was with this version that the Luftwaffe proved the new concept in Spain, and with it that it entered the first months of the Second World War.
The first scheme matches the aircraft of Oberleutnant Hans Schmoller-Haldy of 3.J/88 in Spain in May 1938, the second a machine of 2.(J)/LG 2 in Germany in August 1939.
The landing gear can be built retracted or extended, and a spinner without blades for an in-flight pose on a stand is included. Cut the small parts away with a sharp scalpel and rather shorten the pins, because in such a small scale a gap forgives very little. A light base under the upper surfaces keeps the camouflage transitions legible.
It is sold unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and other accessories are not included.
