The earliest form of the British fighter is captured by 1:144 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I early (Hangar Edition) with two prewar schemes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set builds one aircraft, is accompanied by color-printed documentation and a decal sheet with two machines from the period before the war broke out. In shape it is the oldest production form of the Spitfire, as it looked when it was being introduced to the squadrons.
Before the lessons of combat arrived, the first Spitfires flew with a fixed-pitch two-blade wooden propeller, a flat canopy and no armor. Only 1940 brought a three-blade variable-pitch propeller, thicker glass and a bulged canopy. Anyone who wants the development of the type in a display case has it opened here from the very beginning.
Both markings come from No. 19 Squadron RAF at Duxford, the unit that received Spitfires first of all in history. They are the machines K9795 from October 1938 and K9799 from May 1939; the manufacturer does not give the pilots' names for them.
Smooth prewar surfaces carry almost no weathering, so the quality of the paintwork decides. Apply the base as thinly as possible, or the fine engraving will disappear, and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Glue the propeller on at the very end so that it does not suffer during handling.
The package consists of the plastic parts and paper alone. See to the finishes and the adhesives yourself.
