A set of decals with photo-etched parts for models of the UAZ-469 and GAZ-66 in the version of the Ukrainian border service, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Markings for the UAZ-469 and GAZ-66 vehicles of the State Border Service of Ukraine in 1:35 scale. According to the name the set has two parts: a printed sheet of decals and photo-etched metal parts on a fret.
The UAZ-469 is a small off-road vehicle of Soviet design, widespread to this day as a liaison and command vehicle. The GAZ-66 is an off-road truck with drive to both axles; the cab sits above the engine, so the vehicle has a short front end and a high-set crew position. Both vehicles are common in Ukrainian service and as a model they suit a present-day scene just as well as older equipment.
Cut the decal as close to the artwork as possible and leave it for a few seconds in lukewarm water until it begins to slide on the paper. Prepare the base glossy and smooth, or the edge of the film will show through. After seating it, press the water out with a cotton swab away from the center, help it over pressings and edges with a decal softener and finally unify the surface with a matte varnish.
Cut the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp blade resting on a hard surface, file the remainder of the tab away and smooth the pad. Before gluing, degrease the metal, because a thin film is left on it after etching. It is bonded with super glue; plastic cement will not join metal. Make the fold over the edge of a ruler and close it up with the pressure of a flat tool.
For modelers who build present-day equipment and want to place it with a particular service. The model, paints and glue are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
