A carpet is the small thing in an interior scene that a viewer does not consciously look for but notices at once when it is missing. This set offers carpets in 1:35 scale for living rooms, command posts and a wrecked house, where a carpet has been left lying under the rubble.
The motifs are printed on real cloth, and that on both sides. Textile drapes differently from paper: it can be folded, rolled up, a corner lifted or a wave left in the middle, and the fabric will hold the shape. Printing on both sides means that a folded or lifted corner will not reveal a white reverse, which is the most common failing of paper imitations.
Cut with sharp scissors or a scalpel and treat the edges with a drop of thinned white glue, so that the cloth does not fray. You fix the shape by saturating the carpet with thinned glue and letting it dry in the position required. In a derelict scene add dust and rubble, but sparingly, so that the printing stays legible.
For builders of interior dioramas and scenes with figures. The package contains only the carpets; furniture, figures, glue, paints and the diorama itself are not in it, unless stated otherwise.
