An injection-molded plastic model of the giant transport aircraft Antonov An-124 Ruslan in 1:144 scale from the production of the Revell brand. Even in this space-saving scale it is a large and impressive model. The set offers a detailed cargo hold with a floor, ceiling panels and walls, a separate hinged nose, a rear ramp in more than one position and landing gear in the retracted as well as the extended form. The cockpit and the engines are well worked.
The An-124 Ruslan is one of the largest series-produced aircraft in the world. It first flew in 1982 and was designed for carrying exceptionally heavy and bulky loads. It is distinguished by a hinged nose as well as rear section for drive-through loading, massive multi-wheel landing gear and four powerful jet engines. To this day it is among the best in heavy air transport.
Given the size it is a fairly extensive build — level the large surfaces of the fuselage and the wings carefully, and fill and sand the joints. Mask the clear parts of the cockpit before painting. Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting; put the paint on the extensive surfaces evenly with an airbrush and emphasize the panels with a fine wash. Think in advance about whether to present the nose and the ramp open or closed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
