Reskit C-130 Hercules wheels (early version) 1:144

This set is NOT an aircraft model but a resin detail accessory intended for models of the C-130 Hercules in 1:144 scale. It contains replacement wheels matching the early landing gear version of this transport aircraft. The cast tires and hubs carry detail that small plastic parts in this scale usually do not have.

What the set is for

The wheels are conspicuous on a finished model and simplified plastic parts often show. The resin tires have a more distinct tread pattern and a cleaner hub shape; the early version differs from the later one in the shape of the hubs and the wheel disc, so keep an eye on which version of the subject you are building. The parts are designed as a direct replacement.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts to remove mold release residue and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand with respiratory protection. Tires are rarely pure black; choose a dark gray shade instead and separate the hubs by masking or with a careful brush.
