A set of lifebuoys for ship models in 1:200 scale in the form of a 3D decal. The elements have a raised relief, so on deck they do not read as a flat print but as a real object hung in its place.
On real ships lifebuoys hang along the railings, on the walls of the superstructures and by the transitions between decks. They are small but conspicuous: they break up the uniform area of the hull side and the superstructure and they give the model scale, because the viewer judges the size of the whole hull from them at once. In 1:200 scale these are parts at the limit of what can be made by hand, so finished elements save a great deal of time.
The place of application must be clean, smooth and free of grease, and the varnish under them completely dry. Move the elements with tweezers or a damp pointed brush, seat them one at a time and press them down with a cotton swab. Check the manufacturer's instructions before application to see how the elements are attached to the surface. The method of application differs between the individual sets, so do not start work until you have checked it in the instructions.
The set is for builders of ship models and dioramas in 1:200 scale who are finishing the detail of decks and superstructures. Working with it is not demanding in terms of experience, more in terms of calm and good light, because the individual elements are very small.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
