1:32 AIM-26B (Rb.27) Falcon missiles (2 pcs) contains the enlarged guided missiles of the Falcon family, which in Swedish service carried the name Rb 27.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set captures the enlarged branch of the Falcon family: a body of markedly greater diameter, short forward surfaces and a heavier cruciform tail. The designation (2 pcs) comes from the name of the item. In 1:32 scale even the shape of the transition between the nose section and the cylinder of the body can be made out on a finished store.
The AIM-26B version came about with a conventional warhead and found its way into European air forces. Sweden introduced it under the name Rb 27 as a radar-guided weapon for the supersonic Saab J 35 Draken, where it was hung on the underwing stations. In Switzerland it was carried by Mirage IIIS machines. It is exactly this pair of real subjects that makes the set a rewarding accessory for European themes, which differ from American stores.
On a Draken model it pays to try the position of the mounting dry first, so that the missiles do not point outward. A white casing with colored bands has low covering power, so a light primer belongs under it; the control surfaces are thin and will take careful thinning of the edge.
The package is an armament accessory for a model; neither the aircraft nor building chemicals are included.
