The real subject

The MD-3 is a low airfield tug used to push and tow aircraft around an apron and on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It is a small, flat machine with no enclosed cab, so the operator stays in view from every side. That is exactly why a model of the tug with an empty seat looks unfinished, and a driver figure brings the scene to life at once.

What the set contains

A driver figure in 1:32 scale, shaped into a seated position at the controls. It is prepared for the MD-3 tug in the A, B, C and T variants, so it also suits a modeler building a version other than the most common one. Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder down, so that the sharp edges of the clothing and the footwear are preserved. Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease it, otherwise the paint holds poorly on the smooth surface. A primer coat, flat colors and only then shading with a darker tone into the folds and brightening of the raised areas works well. The color distinction of the coveralls of ground and deck personnel follows their duty, so choose the shade according to the scene you are placing the figure into.
