A turned metal accessory in 1:32 scale from the Polish brand MASTER. It replaces the plastic barrels of the 20 mm Hispano cannons on a model of the Hawker Hurricane fighter in the Mk IIC version, specifically in the Mk I form with flat recoil springs. It is not a kit but a set of replacement parts for a model you already have.
On the Hurricane Mk IIC there are two different forms of cannon barrel: the older Hispano Mk I with a flat recoil spring wound around the barrel, and the newer Mk II with a spring of round section. The difference is clearly visible on the barrel and on a model in the large 1:32 scale it cannot be hidden. This set matches the Mk I form with flat springs; a separate set covers the form with round springs. So check your references before buying to see which form the aircraft you are building had; the choice follows the particular machine and period, not the version of the aircraft as a whole.
A spring wound around a barrel is exactly the kind of detail that an injection mold cannot capture faithfully; in plastic it comes out as a soft suggestion, and with a parting line across the whole surface on top of that. Turned metal holds its shape and diameter, the muzzle has a real bore and the barrel stays straight. When fitting, cut the plastic barrels off at the root, drill the holes gradually with a hand drill, fit the parts dry and check from the front that they are parallel and project by the same amount. Fix them with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Degrease the metal with alcohol, use a primer for metal and rather blacken the barrels than cover them with paint. Fit them at the end of the build, after the clear coat and the weathering.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
