The first marking set for a model of the North American P-51D Mustang in 1:32 scale. It is intended for Zoukei Mura kits, so the size and the placement of the elements match their model. The list of aircraft and the placement drawing are in the instructions, which are part of the set.
The Mustang is among the best known fighters of the Second World War. The D version is recognized by its teardrop canopy, which gave the pilot a view to the rear, and it is the one that survives in the largest numbers, so it is also the most often built. The large 1:32 scale suits it: there is enough room on the fuselage for markings that merge together in smaller scales.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether this is a self-adhesive version. A self-adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined, whereas with a wet decal the soaking can be made up at any time. With the wet version proceed one element at a time: cut it out close to the printing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest aside until it starts to slide across the paper. The area beneath it must be smooth and glossy, or air will get under the film and the markings will go matte. Move the element into place, blot the water away with a soft cloth and draw it down to the surface with a softener. Once dry, varnish it so that the edges disappear.
It is meant for builders of large aircraft models who want to finish a Mustang in markings other than those the kit offers, or who want a choice of several aircraft for one model.
