3D colored interior for the PT-17/N2S-3 Kaydet (1:32) is a set of 3D decals on backing paper for faithfully fitting out the cockpit of a model of the American trainer biplane. Target kit: ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of 3D decals from Quinta Studio offers colored raised interior details ready for immediate application. The instrument panels, side walls, levers and labels are printed on backing decal paper and are released from it by a brief dip in water. It is neither photo-etch nor resin, but a finished colored relief. The decals are shaped to the parts of the ICM kit.
The Stearman Kaydet, built as the PT-17 for the Army and the N2S-3 for the Navy, was the basic trainer biplane on which thousands of American pilots gained their first experience during the Second World War. Its open cockpits with a simple but prominent instrument panel are a rewarding subject for detailing.
First go over the cockpit surface with a gloss clear coat (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the piece out of the sheet, soak it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss clear coat. On busy surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as their chemicals attack the printed resin.
The set contains only the interior 3D decals, not the model, paints or glue.
