The remaining parts for the British tank are offered by the package 1:35 Crusader MK I - Part 2 (italeri). It follows on from the first part of the line and serves to finish a plastic base.
Responsibility details are not available.
This follow-on package closes the two-part line that the Italian brand Royal Model has prepared for the British cruiser tank. It contains a group of elements that stayed outside the reach of the opening package, and together with it covers the vehicle to the widest extent.
The desert campaign placed demands on vehicles that the British designers had not originally reckoned with. Fine sand got into the cooling system and into the engine, so vehicles were fitted out with extensions and filters and the crews spent long hours cleaning. It is precisely from these modifications that the typical look of the vehicles of the campaigns of 1941 and 1942 comes, when the Crusader gave its name to the whole autumn offensive. Wrecks towed off the battlefield were repaired right in the field and often returned to units in a mismatched combination of parts from several machines, which for a modeler is an invitation to creative work with patina.
Lay out the order of the work in advance: large surfaces are easier to spray before the finest metal elements are fitted, which would otherwise catch a needlessly thick layer. Pick the finished metal parts up in cotton gloves; fingerprints show under a matte lacquer as greasy patches. Suggest dust and sand with a pigment in thin layers; an oversaturated coat looks artificial.
The kit of the tank itself is not part of this package.
