This plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the legendary French Char 2C super-heavy tank, one of the largest tanks ever built. The model conveys its long riveted hull, two turrets and massive running gear. The kit meets the brand's modern standard and offers a one-piece main turret, a two-part riveted hull, a photo-etched fret and workable individual track links that are assembled without glue. Thanks to the size of the real vehicle the finished model is impressively large as well.
The Char 2C came about at the very end of the First World War and was built by a French shipbuilding company near Toulon. It weighed around seventy tonnes, measured over ten meters and its hull held a large crew. It was powered by two powerful engines with an electric transmission, carried a 75 mm gun in the front turret and had further machine guns spread around the hull. Only a few were built and they became a symbol of strength rather than practical combat equipment, surviving until the beginning of the Second World War.
On this colossus, assemble and paint the running gear and the lower areas before you close up the hull. Prepare the workable track links in advance and glue the photo-etched elements with cyanoacrylate glue. The pronounced riveted surfaces positively invite emphasis with dark washes and fine paint chipping. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over primer; the large areas come alive with gentle highlighting and filters. Suggest dust and mud with pigments on the running gear and the lower hull. Because of the size it pays to plan the painting section by section.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
