A plastic kit of the German heavy 105 mm s.K.18 gun in 1:35 scale. A model to be glued and painted, suitable as the centerpiece of an artillery diorama too.
Responsibility details are not available.
The heavy s.K.18 gun of 105 mm caliber was among the backbone of German artillery in the Second World War. Its long barrel gave it a range of over eighteen kilometers, so it served to shell targets deep behind the front, for counter-battery fire and to support advancing formations. The split-trail carriage with its two trails was spread in the firing position and allowed aiming over a wide arc. The same carriage was used by the heavy sFH 18 howitzer, which simplified production as well as the supply of spare parts. The gun moved into position under tow, over longer distances behind a motor tractor.
A kit in 1:35 scale to be glued and painted. The parts are on injection-molded sprues and are glued with cement for polystyrene. The assembly consists of the barrel with its breech, the carriage with its split trails, the shield and the road wheels; follow the instructions and it is better to dry fit the larger subassemblies first.
The set will please modelers who already have a first military kit behind them and want an artillery piece for the display case or for a scene with a crew and a tractor. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
