A railway flatcar of the SSys type with a capacity of 50 tons, 1:35 scale. A T-Model kit; no vehicle for the deck is enclosed.
Responsibility details are not available.
With this kit T-Model completes its range of German railway cars. The subject is the four-axle flatcar of the SSys type with a load capacity of fifty tons, which the manufacturer lists with reference to the Koln version. The package consists of the plastic parts of the flatcar; the vehicle that would be loaded onto it is not enclosed and is bought separately.
Flatcars designated SSys were built from the beginning of the 1940s and formed the backbone of rail transport for medium and heavier vehicles. A fifty-ton capacity sufficed for most medium tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery tractors, whereas the heaviest machines called for stronger types. Cars of this kind ran throughout the war, were repaired and remarked, and a good many of them stayed in service long after it.
Start with the running gear and the axles and let them dry on a flat surface, so that the flatcar does not end up standing crooked. Spray the frame and the buffers with a dark base and only then add the shade of the body. The plank load deck comes to life with glazes and with fine dust pigment rubbed into the gaps between the boards. The lettering and the numbers of the flatcar are best applied onto a smooth, slightly glossy surface.
The kit is unassembled and unfinished. The box contains neither paints nor glue, unless stated otherwise.
