MASTER 1:350 Dunkerque/Strasbourg armament is a set of turned metal barrels of 330 mm and 130 mm caliber with resin mounts for models of the French battleships of the Dunkerque class.

A detail set from the Polish maker MASTER in 1:350 scale. It holds precisely turned metal barrels of the main 330 mm caliber, 8 pieces, and of the secondary 130 mm caliber, 16 pieces, together with resin mounts. The set is intended to improve models of the French battleships of the Dunkerque class, that is the units Dunkerque and Strasbourg. It is not a model of a ship on its own but a replacement for the original plastic barrels with more faithful metal parts.
Turned metal barrels have a perfectly straight geometry, a sharp muzzle and a finer profile than injection-molded plastic can offer. A characteristic feature of the French battleships of this class were the quadruple main-caliber turrets concentrated forward. Metal barrels and resin mounts markedly raise the realism of both the main and the secondary battery on a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut off the casting blocks. Glue the metal barrels with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or with a small drop of epoxy for a firmer joint. Test the fit before gluing and degrease the barrels before painting, so that the paint holds well. Sand resin with respiratory protection.
This is an accessory detail set, not a model of a ship. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
