This product is an add-on photo-etched set from FineMolds in 1:35 scale, meant to improve a plastic model of the Japanese Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank. It is not a tank kit and not a finished model, but a set of thin photo-etched parts with which you replace the coarser plastic sections and bring the model closer to the real thing.
Photo-etch makes it possible to create elements that are hard to mold in plastic, for example fine grilles and other small details of the superstructure and the hull. The parts are nipped from the fret, bent along the engraved lines and bonded with super glue. The result is a more faithful and more precise surface that comes into its own especially after painting and weathering.
The Type 3 Chi-Nu was a Japanese medium tank of the late Second World War, armed with a 75 mm gun. It came about in answer to the need for greater firepower and was among the best armed Japanese tanks of its day.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base tank kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
